Back in 2015, I spotted Segun in a groomsmen picture with our mutual friend. After a few months of asking my friend about Segun, he finally linked both of us up. The first time we spoke we spent hours on the phone and it felt like we had known each other for years. As the days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, I knew that I had met someone special. Family is very important to both of us, so after spending holidays and other gatherings with each other's families we knew it was meant to be.
On February 11, 2018, I proposed to LaVonne. The morning of the proposal we had plans to attend her sister's birthday brunch but after staying out late the night before, I had to convince her that we really needed to go to brunch, since I was looking forward to "getting dressed up and taking brunch pictures" LOL. What she didn't know was that her sister's "birthday brunch" going to be her proposal... A few months prior, I arranged for her friends and family to come to Atlanta to celebrate with us, which made it even more special since everyone kept the surprise. Once we walked into the restaurant, her friend's and family were waiting in the back of the restaurant for us. As soon as we turned the corner, I got on one knee and popped the question! And guess what she said...
