Fall 2019 to Fall 2020 Kayla and Ryan are both attending the University of Akron. Kayla is pursuing a double major in AYA Integrated Social Studies and History. Ryan is pursuing a dual degree, one in Political Science and one in History. They interact in classes see each other in passing. Spring 2021 Kayla and Ryan are both offer membership to the University of Akrons department of History Fraternity, Phi Alpha Theta, due to their involvement and grades in history courses; both accept. Kayla serves as the Historian, while Ryan does double duty as Secretary and Treasurer. Fall 2021 Kayla and Ryan meet at weekly Phi Alpha Theta meetings and study groups, planning events. They have one final course together, European History 1300-1600. Spring 2022 In May, Kayla and Ryan both graduate Suma Cum Laude. Kayla with a BA in Education and a teaching job lined up for the fall. Ryan with a BS in Political Science and BA in History, with a plan to return in the fall for his Masters in Political Science. Fall 2022 Ryan becomes a regular at Kayla’s monthly game nights. The two quickly become reoccurring winning partners and are dubbed the “Dream Team”. Others do not like going against them and argue to split them up. Spring 2023 The two go on their first date in May to the Cleveland Museum of Art. They make it official on June 2, at Quarter Up Barcade in Akron, Ohio. Spring 2024 For their first Valentine’s Day, Kayla surprises Ryan with a boo-basket and scavenger hunt. Ryan surprises her with a gold and emerald promise ring. Summer 2024 Ryan graduates with his Masters! Kayla and Ryan take the next step, not only moving in together, but they travel south to Mansfield, Ohio for work to do so. Both work from home and enjoy many lunches and breaks together. Summer 2025 They get to leave Mansfield! The two travel back to Kaylas hometown of Valley View, Ohio with plans to look for a home. The housing market is a wild ride. Spring 2026 Following a series of comical events on Valentine’s day where-in Ryans 4 proposal spots are overrun by the masses, Ryan proposes in French at the Cleveland Museum of Art in a hidden stairwell by the library that reminds the both of The University of Akrons brutalist architecture. Kayla enthusiastically said yes before their quiet nook was then discovered and bombarded with strangers.
