We first met during our second-semester freshman year at an RUF bonfire, where a mutual friend introduced us (technically, we had already met, but Miles had forgotten about it, so we won't really count that). After that, we ran into each other a lot at church events and RUF. Following a summer apart, we returned in the fall and picked up where we left off. Several weeks into sophomore year, I (Lavens) had prayerfully resigned myself to being just his friend when that very night he asked me out! What followed was a whole lot of late-night ice cream runs, walking and talking at Kiesel Park, eating Little Italy's pizza, and watching Farmer Wants a Wife. I (Lavens) learned so much about music and the outdoors, and Miles learned that there is no such thing as too much ice cream. We spent a wonderful three-and-a-half years getting to know one another and are now looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us both! Thank you for celebrating this special milestone with us!
