We met at Carnegie Mellon in high school, at the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences, in the summer of 2008. Though the five weeks were short, we made plenty of memories early on. One of our earliest conversations took place as Lavanya straightened Eddie's hair in the common room of Mudge Hall. After our Gov school experience came to an end, we began talking more and more, especially when we found ourselves going to college together at Johns Hopkins University. As time went on, we started looking for opportunities to run into each other more often, both in random encounters on campus and at parties and gatherings our junior year. By the time finals came around in the winter of 2011, we went on our first date: a romantic walk amidst the Christmas Lights of Baltimore's 34th street, followed by hours of studying for our looming finals. We dated for years, through the end of our time at Hopkins, and found ourselves in a long distance relationship that spanned from grad school in Chicago to a career in Seattle. While we struggled with the challenge long distance poses and broke up a year later, we couldn't be kept apart for long. A few years later, we started talking again, and quickly picked up where we left off. Much better prepared to handle a long distance relationship, we began flying across the country to visit each other (a year that got Eddie Gold Member status on American Airlines), and soon began maneuvering to put ourselves in the same city. Less than a year after moving in together in NYC, we got engaged in December of 2019. Which brings us to our wedding - be it in person or remotely, we're so happy to celebrate this joyful day with you all!
