They met on a night out on the town during Fiesta week in Santa Barbara - an unlikely love story. They were at a club called Indochine when Sarah first saw LaVance and wanted to meet him so she started dancing over by him. LaVance eventually noticed her and they started dancing together, had a great night, and exchanged numbers. He immediately reached out and they had their first date the next day. LaVance was moving to San Luis Obispo to start the Landscape Architecture program at Cal Poly in September so they both assumed it would be nothing more than a fun summer fling. But even once he moved, they couldn’t stop talking and wanting to see each other. Finally on Sarah’s birthday a few months later, she was getting ready to go to Europe for a couple weeks so she asked, “are we going to make this official or what?” and he said yes! They said I love you within a few months and despite always thinking it was a bunch of BS when people said “when you know you know,” Sarah KNEW. He was her person, and she found her match. Since then they’ve just been enjoying making memories and doing life together! They both love being social and active and most of their lives revolve around these themes. Sarah took LaVance snowboarding for the first time and it’s become one of their favorite things to do together. They have a huge love for football and bonded over both being 49ers fans (I think maybe that’s when LaVance knew Sarah was the one, haha). And they now have a 4-year-old mini goldendoodle who is their baby and definitely reaping the benefits of being an only child in a dual income household. They're so excited to be getting married after 5 years together and can’t wait to enjoy this day partying with all of their closest friends and family.
