Matt and Emily grew up within two miles of each other's childhood homes and attended grade school together, however never had spoken. It wasn't until her senior year in high school when she and some of her close friends would run into Matt and his cousin at a college party. The two would part ways and would not speak again until the following summer. During that summer, what was once just a casual acquaintance had turned into a close friendship. As it often happens, over time they drifted apart. Matt finished his Bachelor's degree at UVM and Emily pursued other interests. Time moved on. Matt however maintained his tabs on Emily by always making sure to ask her mother how she was doing when visiting his family's farm stand. It wouldn't be until eight years later that Emily reached out. An exchange of messages led to a three-hour Facetime conversation, which ultimately resulted in getting together for drinks a few days later. Both had the same intention of catching up and re-establishing their once close friendship. However it wasn't until Matt was walking Emily to her car and asking the most ridiculous question when she realized he was stalling, but why? "What car are you driving these days?" Confused, Emily replied. Driving away she kept replaying the moment trying to figure out if he was really that interested in her car or her. It turns out it wasn’t the car. Fast forward to today and a friendship and crush that started over a decade ago has developed into deep commitment to each other's wellbeing and happiness. The close bond which began many years ago and lay dormant for years blossomed into true love. We are so happy to be sharing our story and beginning our next chapter as the future Mr. & Mrs. Brigante.
