Let's get married!

Well....2019 is when it all started! As summer was beginning and I was finishing up Grad school, I figured I better get the rest of my life together too...SOOOO I decided to "shoot from the hip" and join Bumble. Haha! I was so excited to go on a causal first date and quickly realized I was lucky to be in the presence of Andru. I could immediately sense his patience, kindness and compassion for others. Meeting for a quick drink with great conversation and connection eventually turned into an official first date. We spent a lot of that summer along Sunset Beach and quickly realized this could be something. Turns out "shooting from the hip" works out sometimes...who knew leaving love to an APP would actually work out?! We both believe there was some divine intervention working on our behalf. We are so grateful to have found each other and feel so blessed to start this life together!

We had been looking forward to a Big Bear getaway to our family cabin. My mom called and said that they had to head up for a cabin repair and asked if they could just stay the weekend. Even better, she mentioned why not have my brother and his family come up too! It turned out to be such a perfect weekend! The fall colors and weather made for the prettiest backdrop. I had been thinking maybe he would propose, but there just was nothing out of the ordinary I could catch from our plans that day, so I spent the day talking myself out of the fact that he would propose. We had no agenda for the day and it was just the best. We made breakfast and had a slow morning with the family. We went for a walk through town and down to see the lake. We then decided to go on a couple of little hikes to get pictures of the beautiful fall trees. I was really wanting to get a "nice" photo of us in a great spot with the colorful trees, so Andru suggested we come back at sunset to take a good photo. Later that afternoon we went back to change and head out for another little hike to take photos. I had parked the car on a hilly dirt road to get the perfect picture with a bright yellow tree...Andru stood there posing (HAHA) while the car was rolling down the hill. It was a ridiculous scene and he must have been dying in his mind, just waiting for me to get over this picture so we could go up the hill to THE spot. The picture came out horrible LOL so he suggested we go further up the mountain for a better view. We turned the corner and there was the most beautiful set up, with a table, hors d'oeuvres, champagne and THE PRETTIEST VIEW ever! This happened to be a very special personal place for me, and I was shocked he had picked this place...he had never been! He had a "Will you marry me" sign posted to the tree and the sunset was just perfect as he got down on one knee! I was so shocked! The whole family came up after and my heart could burst from the happiness I felt in those moments!
