Neither of us would have ever imagined that we would find each other on the other side of the world—in Australia. We met in November 2018! Like good Israelis, we worked together selling skincare products in shopping centers. We became best friends, traveling, partying, and simply becoming each other’s favourite person. After several months in Australia, Laurie took a job opportunity in Hawaii—yes, Hawaii, haha. That meant saying our goodbyes, thinking we’d meet again one day back in Israel (we thought we’d return home after a year abroad). The first two months apart were tough—we missed each other and talked on the phone every day. Then came Eitan Sadeh—the one and only—the person who gave Laurie the Hawaii opportunity and who, from the beginning, said, “He’s husband material.” Eitan invited Yehiel to Hawaii for three weeks to join the business. Yehiel hesitated at first, but then he decided to get on a plane and go! He landed on a Friday morning, and that night, as usual, Eitan and Ataliah hosted a Shabbat dinner. There, Yehiel shared his real reason for coming: "I came to Hawaii for one purpose—to take Laurie back to Australia with me." For Laurie, this sounded crazy at first—she hadn’t yet realized that her feelings for Yehiel were more than just friendship. But it didn’t take her long. Three days after Yehiel was back in Australia, she went to Eitan and said, "I’m going back to Australia!" It was the joyful beginning of a new chapter—one where love was finally on the table. Since then, we’ve been together, building our life in Australia, growing side by side, having our first little angel together Beeri (the puppy in the picture ) ,and now, getting ready to make it official and spend the rest of our lives together! אף אחד מאיתנו לא היה מדמיין שנמצא אחד את השנייה דווקא בצד השני של העולם – באוסטרליה. נפגשנו בנובמבר 2018! כמו ישראלים טובים, עבדנו יחד במכירת מוצרי טיפוח בעגלות בקניונים. הפכנו לחברים הכי טובים – טיילנו, יצאנו למסיבות, ופשוט הפכנו לאנשים האהובים אחד על השנייה. אחרי כמה חודשים באוסטרליה, לאורי קיבלה הצעת עבודה בהוואי – כן, הוואי, חחח. זה אמר שנצטרך להיפרד, מתוך מחשבה שיום אחד ניפגש שוב בישראל (חשבנו שנחזור אחרי שנה בחו"ל). החודשיים הראשונים בנפרד היו קשים – התגעגענו ודיברנו בטלפון כל יום. ואז הגיע איתן שדה – האחד והיחיד – האיש שנתן ללאורי את ההזדמנות בהוואי, וכבר מההתחלה אמר: "הוא חומר לחתונה!". איתן הציע ליחיאל להגיע להוואי לשלושה שבועות ולעבוד איתנו בעסק. יחיאל היסס בהתחלה, אבל לבסוף החליט לעלות על מטוס וללכת על זה! הוא נחת בבוקר יום שישי, ובערב, כרגיל, איתן ואתליה אירחו ארוחת שבת. במהלך הארוחה, יחיאל חשף את הסיבה האמיתית להגעתו: "באתי להוואי עם מטרה אחת – לקחת את לאורי חזרה איתי לאוסטרליה!" ללאורי זה נשמע מטורף בהתחלה – היא עדיין לא קלטה שהרגשות שלה כלפי יחיאל הם יותר מרק ידידות. אבל זה לא לקח לה יותר מדי זמן להבין. שלושה ימים אחרי שיחיאל חזר לאוסטרליה, היא פנתה לאיתן ואמרה: "אני חוזרת לאוסטרליה!" זה היה התחלה חדשה ושמחה – שבה סוף סוף האהבה הייתה על השולחן. מאז אנחנו יחד, בונים את החיים שלנו באוסטרליה, צומחים זה לצד זו, ועכשיו מתכוננים להפוך את זה לרשמי ולבלות את שארית חיינו ביחד!
