We may be a little bias, but we love Salem! We met here (after both living in Salem separately for 7 years), dated here, fell in love here, and now live here together! Not to mention how wonderfully weird (and welcoming) it is no matter the time of year. Along with the spookiness of Salem and everything witchy, it offers diverse activities and restaurants/bars we find worth staying for. Here are some of our favorite spots for eats and activities. We hope you take advantage of the tours, sites, and stores that make downtown Salem so unique and historical!

Red's Sandwich Shop

Excellent breakfast! Historical building, and within steps of The Hotel Salem. Yes, they serve mimosas and bloodies.

Counter at The Hotel Salem

209 Essex Street, Salem, MA 01970

Counter is within the The Hotel Salem on the main floor as you enter the lobby. Expansive menu for brunch and lunch with cocktails. There is full indoor seating inside and outside.

Finz Salem

Another Salem staple. A must for seafood and sushi. Laurie loves the blueberry martini! Whenever we go, we have never not ordered the 'crab nachos'.

All Souls Lounge

One of Steph's favorite spots! Drinks, artisan grilled cheeses, and apps. Open for lunch and late night drinks/food. We had our "second first date" here

Salem Trolley

Essex Street, Salem, MA 01970

By far the BEST way to see Salem (besides on the water). Spare yourself the spooky stuff, the trolley is about an hour ride and takes you through each neighborhood nooks and cranneys. Sit back, relax and listen to fun facts about Salem. Pick up is on Essex Street in front of the museum.

Peabody Essex Museum

A world-renowned museum with rotating collections and exhibits. A must do when in town. Steph HIGHLY recommends the "All of the Flowers are For Me" exhibit!

Witch City Tours

Rockafellas Restaurant

BOO! Rock's is known to be haunted and is a Salem staple! Great outdoor patio, large space inside. A great option for lunch. We recommend sitting in the bar area or on the patio. If it is busy and you are looking for tavern style food - Direwolf is a great option and a few doors down.

The Babe

First date spot! About a 10-15 walk from Essex Street. Cocktails & handheld sandwiches and wraps, SUPER cute inside.

Koto Asian Fusion

Koto is a hidden Salem gem! Delicious sushi, Japanese and Chinese cuisines and Bento boxes. Koto is no frills, old school, a bit dive-ish. The food is fresh and drinks are great. Laurie recommends: Mango Sunrise Roll. Steph recommends: Spicy Salmon Cucumber Avocado Roll
