How We Met

Welcome We’re so glad you’re here—and even more excited to share a little of our journey with you. How It All Began Our story started in one of the most unexpected places: Roswell, New Mexico, in the summer of 2018. We had both just arrived at New Mexico Military Institute—two brand-new cadets preparing for training at Fort Knox. It was hot, intense, and definitely not where either of us expected to meet our person. But somewhere in the middle of all the sweat, early mornings, and strict routines, something quietly began to take shape. The First Spark At first, we were just two people weathering the same storm. One of us was outgoing, quick to laugh, and always making friends. The other—more calm, observant, and grounded. We didn’t know it then, but those small moments—passing glances, shared smiles, quiet laughs—were the beginning of something much more. That first year, we didn’t grow especially close. We knew each other—but from a distance. Then one day, during a routine Army PT session, a moment of unexpected (and slightly flirty) banter broke the ice. A simple text followed. Then another. And soon, we were talking nonstop—connecting for the first time. A Friendship Turned to Love Before long, the gym became our go-to hangout. We lifted weights side by side, played racquetball with friends, and always ended up laughing—probably more than anyone should during military training. In those simple, everyday moments, something real began to grow. Comfort. Joy. A friendship that quietly turned into love. On October 25, 2019, we became a couple In 2020, we commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the Army and moved to Syracuse, New York, to finish our degrees. Life pulled us in different directions, and long-distance became our new normal. It wasn’t always easy, but we kept showing up for each other—through texts, FaceTimes, airport goodbyes, and a whole lot of prayer and patience. Even from afar, we grew together. We celebrated wins, overcame setbacks, and held tightly to the vision of the life we were building. In 2024, that vision became real when we bought our first home in Tinley Park, Illinois. The Proposal On February 16, 2025, during a quiet hike in San Antonio, everything changed. No big crowd. No over-the-top setup. Just the two of us, surrounded by nature, in a moment that felt completely and perfectly us. Alex got down on one knee—and without hesitation, we said yes to forever. Now, Here We Are Today, we’re standing at the edge of a brand-new chapter, surrounded by the people we love most. Our story has stretched across miles, seasons, challenges, and change. But through it all, one thing has remained true: It’s always been us. If this is just the beginning, we can’t wait to see what comes next. Thank you for being part of our story. We’re so excited to celebrate with you!
