How We Met
Lauren and Ben's story began with a swipe and a match. After a few days of conversation, Lauren was encouraged by a friend to make the first move and ask for a date — a decision she's never once regretted. They met on a blustery evening in January of 2023, where they talked for hours over a shared love of good food, live music, their families, and their cats - Dixie (Lauren) and Jiminy (Ben). They would not go on a second date until June.
Summer unfolded in the best possible way — dates at the Burlington Farmers Market, mini golfing, wine bars, cooking for each other, meeting friends, and so much talking.
Their adventures took them up and down the East Coast, visiting family in North Carolina, Florida, and New York, and escaping for weekends in Cape Cod and Montreal. After a year and a half of dating, Ben & Jiminy extended an offer for Lauren & Dixie to join them under one roof. They said yes.
On a quiet night at home in November 2025, Ben proposed to Lauren. She said yes.
