We went here for our anniversary, and had a blast. You can't go wrong with Jose Andres, especially with the margarita selection.
Do you like Horchata and vegan breakfast tacos? This is the place for you.
This is where we went for Laurence's birthday dinner - if you like ramen with lots of creative toppings and amazing cocktails, check out this 1920's Shanghai inspired bar and restaurant.
This was the choice for Halsey's birthday dinner - they ALSO have great margaritas and killer ceviche.
Theodore Roosevelt Island is an 88-acre park right in the middle of the Potomac. No cars are allowed on the island, so you can only get there by crossing the foot bridge from Arlington, or by boat. The island has walking trails and a boardwalk that leads to the main memorial plaza where a statue of Theodore Roosevelt was erected to honor the 26th president.
This is such a fun and comparatively little known place to have a picnic and watch the planes fly in and out of Reagan National.
This is a really cool place to check out DC's local art scene. It's hidden in the repurposed underground trolley tunnel just beneath Dupont Circle.
This is just a local ice cream shop, but they have plenty of unique flavors with vegan options, and the freshest waffle cones in town.
This was one of our first dates - go for some free gin tasting, and take home a bottle of DC's own Green Hat Gin!
It's the perfect time of year to check out Eastern Market on the Sunday after our wedding. They have local artisans, crafts, coffee, kombucha, and more.
This is a great authentic Ethiopian spot to visit especially if you're going to be exploring Georgetown while you're here.
Here's another brewery if you're into DC's budding beer scene!
This is a great casual Ramen spot (plus they have Korean poutine?) - the perfect spot to have dinner before a movie at the Atlantic Plumbing theater in the same building.
This is a super cute French restaurant up near the Brookland neighborhood. We celebrated here after Laurence was hired at GWU and had a great time.
