Our Story

2.28.2015

Flashback to sophomore year of high school when Lauren transferred to Longmont Christian. She and Zach had not spoken a single word to each other, but when the Sadie Hawkins dance came around in February of 2015, that all changed. Even though they had never even glanced at each other, Lauren thought it would be a great idea to ask Zach to go with her. He said yes and the rest is history! Many awkward dates and conversations at McIntosh Lake passed, but they could not seem to stay away from each other. The two of them dated all throughout high school before deciding to attend colleges in different states. Despite the distance, they were determined to stay together and make it work. Zach and Lauren wrote letters to each other and face-timed almost every day to make the distance easier. Two years passed before Lauren decided that she could not do long distance anymore. Junior year of college, she transferred to a school that was just 45 minutes away from Zach. They were able to see each other almost every weekend and make it through the rest of college. Something that Lauren and Zach have always cherished has been their love for traveling. They have visited places like the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Destin, and Steamboat Springs, just to name a few. After they graduated college last May, they were able to take a 16 day road trip across the Western United States. They traveled over 5,000 miles and visited 7 states, along with many different National and State Parks. The two of them are excited to finally go to Europe for their honeymoon. They booked the trip three years ago right before the start of COVID and have been waiting to go ever since!

The Proposal

7.16.2021

Lauren had been suspecting that Zach would propose soon after they graduated, but she never expected it in this way. The two of them were on their way to a paint and sip party, when their friend Max called and told them that his car had broken down just outside of Lyons. Not thinking anything of it, they drove up to meet Max at his friend's house. On the way there, Lauren was thinking to herself, "What are the odds he proposes to me out here". As soon as they got to the house, Lauren saw their friends in a field feeding a cow. Immediately, she forgot every thought she had of Zach proposing and ran out to pet it. After a few minutes of loving on and feeding the cow, she turned around to Zach on one knee. After lots of happy tears, Lauren said yes and two of them were engaged. Most people raise their eyebrow at the story, but Zach was so sweet to incorporate Lauren's favorite animal into their special day. It's a story that neither one of them will ever forget! We're so excited to spend this special day with all of you!
