One of our favorite wineries. Dr Frank's is one of the oldest and most famous wineries in the region and really put the Finger Lakes on the map (known for their dry riesling)! Up in the hills on the west side of the lake, its a beautiful view.
Visit the annual Seaplane festival- SEAPLANE HOMECOMING: A TRIBUTE TO GLENN H. CURTISS WHO MADE FLYING ON AND OFF THE WATER A REALITY. Since 2003, the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum and dedicated volunteers have held the “Seaplane Homecoming” each fall on Keuka Lake, where Curtiss made some of his greatest contributions to aviation. In the early 1900’s it took bravery, ingenuity and cunning to do what he did. Thanks to the generosity of the owner/pilots, a wide variety of Seaplanes will gather at Depot Park. Get up close to the aircraft and talk with the pilots owners. Learn a great deal about why water flying is so satisfying and exciting. 10am-4pm
Abandon Brewery is very close to our venue, Crispin Hill, and about 5 mins from downtown Penn Yan. In addition to having great beer, they have amazing wood-fired pizza. We definitely recommend this as a Friday night dinner spot before our Welcome Party, or a fun Saturday pre-wedding activity!
Our alma mater! (even though we didn't know each other while there...) HWS is in Geneva, NY- about 30 minutes away from our venue in Penn Yan (on the top of Keuka lake). For those who haven't been, it's a beautiful campus with a cool downtown area and good wineries and breweries nearby. For our guests from the Boston area, you will pass through on your way to Keuka Lake.
A fun 9-hole golf course (with the best bloody marys). There will be a golf tournament on wedding day; reach out to Willy or Chris Karam for more information.
