While working towards degrees, building our careers, and transitioning into adulthood, we both seemed to have forgotten to make time to look for “the one”. At about the same time, we both knew we needed to make this a priority. After countless first dates with the wrong people, and growing tired of the dating scene, we finally made the “right” swipe. Both of us went into our first date with the intention to take a break from dating if nothing came of it. To our surprise, it was the best (and last) first date. We met at Superior Steakhouse and enjoyed a romantic dinner together. We instantly connected and talked and laughed for hours. Neither of us wanted the night to end and were both eager to see one another again. Since that evening, we both knew this would be something special and since that day, we have continued to fall more in love with one another as every day passes.
While we adore our friends and family, we also enjoy a nice night at home alone. Often, we are joined by my niece who has a special place in my heart. On the night of the proposal, I was at home having a girls night with her. Wes was working and had mentioned coming home on a lunch break. Prior to this, I came home to beautiful roses, but I didn’t suspect anything because he is always pulling off sweet surprises. During that evening, Wes came home to us playing hide and seek. He told Hadley to come into the back room and get something. She then came out into the living room and asked me to read her a book. The book was one that Weston had made and included all the reasons he loved me. At the end of the book, it asked “Will you marry me?” and on one knee was Weston with the most beautiful ring! Without hesitation, I instantly said YES! The easiest question I’ve ever had to answer.
