Let the adventure begin!

In the Spring of 2017, Lauren, living in Greenville at the time, made an impromptu trip with her best friend, Lauren W, for the weekend to visit her boyfriend, Jordan, in Charlotte. On a warm Friday night, they all went out to a bar in Charlotte called VBGB. Jordan, being outnumbered in this scenario, called a few of his buddies to join them for a night out. One of those buddies was Wade. When Wade arrived at VBGB, he went straight to the bar and ordered an ice cold pitcher of PBR. That PBR was the ice-breaker to what would lead to a lifetime of love and happiness. The night was spent making small talk together and admiring Lauren's ping pong skills, until Lauren decided to call it a night and leave, but not before inviting Wade to Spring Fest the next day at Sycamore Brewing. Wade happily accepted her invite. When he arrived at Sycamore he quickly struck up conversation with Lauren to pick up where they left off, bought her a beer and a grilled cheese sandwhich, and the rest is history.

In the spring of 2019, Wade and Lauren booked two plane tickets to Montana, a small motel in Great Falls, and embarked on a trip to check Glacier National Park off Lauren's bucket list. What Lauren didn't know was that Wade packed a small box in his backpack, which contained a rose gold diamond ring. It happened on Day 3 of the trip. They woke up early to meet a tour guide and small group of hikers for the 3 hour trip from Great Falls, MT to the East Glacier park entrance where their guided tour would take them on a 10 mile hike. Wade has always been a "let's cross the bridge when we get there" kind of guy, so naturally he had no idea when or where it was going to happen. He just hoped the right time would present itself. Fortunately, the hike ended at a small lake surrounded by a massive glacier. Fields of flowers and trees added to the beauty of the landscape. The perfect spot! Wade knew Lauren would ask one of the hikers to take a picture of them in front of the Lake, and that would be when he would get down on one knee. What he didn't know was that she wanted that picture to be taken while they were standing IN the lake, with water so cold there were still icebergs floating around in it. Wade knew this might be his only shot, so he snuck the ring into his hoodie pocket, took off his shoes, and followed Lauren into that freezing glacier water. Lauren gave her phone to a random hiker and asked for some pictures. A few photos were snapped and Lauren was ready to get back out of the water, but Wade asked the hiker to take "just one more". As he slowly got on one knee, the anticipating of his skin hitting the glacier water was so overwhelming that he completely forgot his speech. He just looked up at Lauren (who was already in full shock and tears) and asked her "Will you Marry Me?". We still don't know if she actually officially said "yes" or only just said "oh my god".
