Things To Do

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe

South lake Tahoe, CA

Lake Tahoe is a popular lake to visit outside of Sacramento if you plan to stay for multiple days. It is about 2 hours away. The Tahoe region is divided into two regions, North lake for a more woodsy experience with Donner Lake and the road to Reno. South Lake offers more direct access to Lake Tahoe with the Nevada State Line offering some gambling and major Vegas Style hotels.

Old Town Sacramento

Old Town Sacramento

1014 2nd St, Sacramento, CA

Old Sacramento is a fun place to explore. Step back into 1800's Sacramento and walk the boardwalk streets of the original town before it was rebuilt at higher elevation to avoid flooding issues. There are many fun little shops with old-style candy stores and ice cream. Alongside the river, you will see the ferry boat which does not move and serves as a hotel/restaurant. You will also see old trains and old buildings! I hear there is a ghost tour here. Sacramento railroad museum is also located in old Sacramento.

Napa Valley

Napa, CA

Explore the authentic and eclectic Northern California Wine country. The Napa valley is perpetually green and full of charming wineries and rustic bed and breakfasts. Enjoy fast paced trendy wine bars in down town Napa or travel up valley to relax and recharge in St. Helena to get into the real winery estates and catch a glimpse of the villas and vineyards that are unlike any other place in the world.
