Trey and I met on Bumble (not sponsored) in May of 2020. At the time, we lived almost an hour away from each other so we did not meet right away. After numerous phone calls and texts over the course of several weeks, we finally decided to go on a date. He took me to a drive-in theater which was pretty cool considering I had never been to one before. After Trey dropped me back off at my house, he didn’t even make it halfway home before one of his tires popped on his mustang. He stayed on the phone with me until his parents were able to come get him and the rest is history.
Trey proposed on the coolest day of the year, April 8th, 2024. It was the day of the total solar eclipse which is a rare phenomenon in the United States with the next one being in 2045! He was excited for this day for months and did extensive research about it and even rented an expensive camera lens to capture the entirety of the eclipse process. We were surrounded by friends and family while we watched the show. During the exact moment “totality” hit, Trey whispered in my ear to ask, “Do you know your place in the universe? because I know mine.” That’s when he knelt down and everything fell into place. I will never forget how special I felt that day and how lucky I am to have him for the rest of my life.
