FAQs

Question

What happens if a major snowstorm occurs?

Answer

The wedding will still happen and show must go on (we’ve waited long enough, haha!!) The venue is prepared with backup generators and plows to keep site open!

Question

Can you drive to the boathouse for the ceremony?

Answer

Yes. Jimbo’s venue is well maintained and though it is a short walk from cabins to the ceremony site and reception, there is an access road to pull up.

Question

Will there be food available on site over the weekend?

Answer

Yes. Throughout the weekend, food will be served daily if you choose to stay on-site. E.g. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner- Saturday, & Sunday- Breakfast only.

Question

Will bed linens be provided?

Answer

Yes. Bed linens, towels, and hand soap are provided. Remember your toiletries, favorite warm blankets and pillows etc.. We also recommend bringing an extra flat bed sheet to tie up to bunks if you are rooming with others and would like to create privacy. In addition, a cheap dark colored shower curtain and two command hooks work wonders to create privacy between the main part of the cabin and the bathroom/changing areas. We know this from experience!

Question

Few important recommendations!!

Answer

As this is a non-traditional hotel, below are a few things that you might want to bring with you to make your stay more enjoyable 1. Hair dryer, if you need one 2. Umbrella or rain/snow gear (hopefully you won’t need it, but better safe than sorry!) 3. Blanket or warm fleece for the campfire ( it is the Adirondacks and does get chilly) 4. Cooler-there are no ice machines and only a few shared mini fridges in common areas, so if you are bringing drinks or snacks that need refrigeration, it is recommended that you bring a personal cooler. Cooler also makes for a nice makeshift table for food, bevy’s , and card games! If you have a table (cooler, haha) you’ll need some chairs, too! We recommend bringing your camping or beach chairs . 5. If you know Lauren you know she irons everything hahaha, bring an iron or steamer if you like to be keep things crispy!

Question

Lodging questions-Where do I check in, cost etc…?

Answer

Please enter the grounds and drive all the way to the end up the hill. Park in the cul-de-sac; check in will be in the Library, so that is the most convenient place to park when checking in. Payment will be due at check in, all major credit cards accepted ( no personal checks). Once you check in, you will be assigned a room in the lodge or a cabin. Based on your preferences indicated on RSVP card, Lauren and Travis will do their best to accommodate you accordingly; preferred location, who you are bunking with, etc. PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to reach out to Jimbo’s directly to book your cabin. As mentioned above indicate your cabin mates on your RSVP card and we will handle the rest until check in. On-Site room costs are very affordable and we encourage you to stay and enjoy the full Adirondack experience! Pricing will become available at a later date, based on responses, but depending on how many adults are in a cabin (the more you have in a cabin, the less it is per person.) Each cabin is furnished with one queen size bed and multiple bunk beds( that can be pushed together to make a “make-shift king.”) Can sleep up to 8 comfortably. Please remember to add who you will bunk with on the back of your RSVP!

Question

What do cabins look like?

Answer

Please see photo gallery for pics of the cabins and a site map of Jimbo’s property!
