In January of 2015, we both started our post-college careers at a pharmaceutical lab in Germantown, WI. We bonded over being the new people and quickly found that we could make each other laugh. Soon we were talking outside of work and going for drinks together. In April, we knew that we were more than friends, but decided it was best to try and keep it a secret because of work. Lauren's mom called it before it happened, so I guess we weren't as subtle as we thought 😅.

In the summer of 2018, the ring was burning a hole in my pocket wanting to jump out and ask the sweetest, kindest, funniest, and the most thoughtful girl I'd ever met to marry me. We went to Nashville and Nashvilled for a few days before going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. After almost losing the ring in a roller coaster related event, we went to Ollivander's Wand Shop and watched two lucky wands choose their witch and wizard. As the crowd in the shop dispersed, I pulled Lauren aside and asked the wandmaker to borrow a wand. I asked Lauren to cast the spell, "Revelio" on me. Revelio is a spell that reveals hidden objects. When she cast the spell, the ring (which was hidden in my pocket) revealed itself as I got on one knee. We were engaged!
