Maid of Honor
KeeKee has been my best friend since sophomore year in high school, so basically over half of our lives. Our friendship is perfect because she is such a goofball and well if you know me, I love to laugh. I am so amazed by KeeKee and everything that she does, a true superwoman! When anything happens in our lives, we reach out to each other for support. She made me a Godmother and I couldn't thank her enough for bringing Kennedy (Our flower girl) into the world. I love that we are together on major days in our lives, and I am honored that she will be standing directly beside me on my wedding day. I am truly grateful for our friendship because if it wasn't for her TJ and I might not have started our relationship. I am so glad that she played cupid and passed my number on to him.
Best Man
For me choosing a best man was an easy task. As we know a best man should be dependable, honest, trustworthy, noble, and wise beyond their years. So, after I learned President Obama was not available, I chose Greg Battle to stand with me on the special day. For the last 12 years Greg has been all of the above. I have depended on him for my most significant personal and professional matters. His friendship and advice have truly been a blessing. His consistency over the years has proved that he deeply cares about my growth as a man. If you know Greg, you know the last 12 years have been full of laughter. He is the funniest man alive (he made me write this).
Bridesmaid
Courtney and I have known each other since Freshman year of high school. Unlike most friendships we did not expect to be friends this long. I was definitely Courtney's most annoying friend. We used to always pick on each other but that was just our way of showing our affection for one another. As we have gotten older, we have gotten past that phase. I have much admiration for Courtney and all that she has accomplished in life. Our friendship is another one where we can go sometime without talking but pick back up like not time has passed. I was lucky to have Courtney close by during college because if I needed a close friend I didn't have far to go. I am so happy to have her in my life and even happier that she will be standing with me at my wedding.
Groomsman
If you knew me growing up, you knew him. If you saw me, you saw him. Lonnie is my little brother and one-of-a-kind. I am lucky to have him as a brother and happy to have him serve as a groomsman on our special day. We share an unconditional love that is priceless. Lonnie (aka... Mr. Reliable) has had my back since we were kids. He is my trouble making co-pilot since diapers and a hell of a spades partner.
Bridesmaid
Scarlett instantly became one of my best friends. We were inseparable while we worked together. One thing that you will hear when we are together is constant laughter. Supportive does not begin to describe Scarlett. she has been there for all of my ups and downs. Like all of my close friends we cannot talk to each other for a while and once we do reconnect there is no awkward moment we just instantly pick right back up. I truly appreciate the fact that Scarlett goes above and beyond for all of the people in her life, and I am blessed to be one of those people. She is one of the hardest working people I know. I couldn't imagine not having her by my side today.
Groomsman
While technically he is my nephew, I really consider Benjamin as a son. Through the years we have shared many wonderful memories. I have seen him grow from a quite shy boy to a confident adventurous man. We share a mutual respect for each other that has grown stronger over the years. I love this young man and I am honored to have him stand with me as a groomsman. He is also the only person I know that matches my passion for the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas Jayhawks, and Kansas City Royals.
