Even though we grew up in the same small neighborhood in South Portland, our paths didn’t cross until after college. It all started at the gym—a quick glance that sparked a quiet curiosity. That curiosity led to conversation, and not long after, our first date. From the beginning, it all felt easy. We talked for hours, laughing and swapping stories like old friends catching up after years apart. Within just a few dates, we both knew—something special was unfolding. Just as things were beginning to grow between us, life pulled us in different directions. Spencer left for a five-month hitch at sea, and suddenly we were on opposite sides of the world. But instead of creating distance, the time apart brought us even closer. Through long emails and late-night Facebook messages, we stayed connected—sharing the little details of daily life and the big hopes for what was to come. When Spencer came home, it felt like no time had passed at all. Since then we’ve built a life full of laughter, adventure, and the kind of quiet, everyday moments that mean just as much as the big ones. From spontaneous coffee drives to weekend getaways, we’ve become true partners—always encouraging and challenging one another, and growing together every step of the way. In November 2024, while visiting one of our favorite places, Rangeley Maine, Spencer asked the biggest question of our lives. After a very muddy hike with three very happy golden retrievers, Spencer brought Lauren to the top of her parents' property where he dropped to one knee and proposed. Surrounded by crisp mountain air and the warmth of family nearby, Lauren said yes! Now, as we prepare to celebrate our wedding, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude—for the journey that’s brought us here, the life we’ve created together, and the incredible love and support from all of our family and friends. We can’t wait to begin this next chapter, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us in the world.
