Sourav Pati
Groom
Sourav is a senior software development engineer from Gopisagar, India. While in India, he established himself as a leading developer and livelong learner. He graduated from Padmanava College of Engineering and started his career in software development. A few years in, he decided it was time to chase his life long dream of coming to the United States. He studied day and night to master his English skills and ace his GRE. He eventually got in to the University of Michigan, a leading university for computer science. While there, he published research on security in cloud computing and created a patent for security technology. After graduating, he traveled the country working for various companies like Goldman Sachs and Devon. He now works at Echo Energy for research and development.
Lauren Sickels
Bride
Lauren Sickels is a senior instructional designer. Lauren is an advocate for lifelong learning and technology. In 2017, she won the Oklahoma 30 Under 30 award in the field of education along with the Spirit of Oklahoma award. These awards honored Lauren for her work as an instructional designer and her passion for volunteer work. Lauren has volunteered 150 hours with the Oklahoma City Zoo and has regularly volunteered with the Regional Food Bank since she was 12. Lauren graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma cum laude with a degree in education. She now works for Paycom, creating client-facing online training courses over topics like anti-harassment. Her courses have been used by over 130,000 people. She can't wait to show Sourav the magical world of Disney at their honeymoon.
Tony Sickels
Father of the Bride
Tony works in the accounting field as a controller. He is a fun-loving Tigger personality. He loves playing golf, sitting with Watson in the rocking chair, baking chip chewiews, and beating his daughter at board games.
Wendy Sickels
Mother of the Bride
Wendy works for Hite Drug as a buyer and assisting in the pharmacy. Her true talent lies in her ability to decorate and curate cozy environments, which she leverages to decorate the First United Methodist Church of Chandler. Lauren can't wait for her to get her hands on the Pati house once it's complete!
Bhakta Ranjan Pati
Father of the Groom
Bhakta is a retired physics teacher and entrepreneur. Though quiet, he is known for his kind heart and benevolence. We are so happy to have him join us via Skype all the way from Bankura, India.
Renuka Pati
Mother of the Groom
Renuka assists Bhakta with the family land business. She is kind-hearted and bubbly - you'll always find her cracking a joke. We are so happy to have her join us via Skype all the way from Bankura, India.
Soumen Pati
Brother of the Groom
Soumen, the middle brother, helps take care of the family land business. He's the true definition of a fighter. Several years ago, he had a life-threatening accident. But he stayed strong and is now living a healthy life! We are so happy to have him join us via Skype all the way from Bankura, India.
Kingshuk Pati
Brother of the Groom
Kingshuk is Sourav's eldest brother and is the IT manager of a large technology company in Bengaluru, India. He also helps out with the Pati family land business. He and his family will cheer on Sourav and Lauren as they get married.
Watson
Pup of the Bride
Watson is Lauren's long-haired dachshund. He loves eating cheese and being treated like royalty. Watson is excited to have Sourav join the family - more people = more love. He will spend the wedding and honeymoon with his grandparents where he will get to rock in the rocking chair and eat all of the chewy pieces out of the dog food.
Olive
Pup of the Bride
Olive is Lauren's beagle. She loves running, playing with Toby, and beating up Watson. Olive is excited to have Sourav join the family because it means another human to help console her when she's scared. She will spend the wedding and honeymoon with her grandparents where she will run wildly through the back yard and wallow on the couch.
Toby
Kitty of the Bride
Toby is Lauren's cat. He loves sleeping on the refrigerator, pouncing at Watson when he least expects it, and scaring Sourav in the middle of the night by jumping on the bed. Toby has had a special bond with Sourav since day one, so he is very happy to have him around. He will spend the wedding and honeymoon with his grandparents.
