SBA, LAX, SFO
For flights, Santa Barbara (SBA) is the most convenient airport and only about 15 minutes from anywhere you might stay in the region. Los Angeles (LAX) is a 1.5 hr drive, or $45 SB Airbus ride up the beautiful Pacific Coast. If you want to see Big Sur or vacation in classic San Francisco, SFO, OAK, or SJO are the big Bay Area options though it's about a 5hr drive from Santa Barbara at minimum.
