A few weeks prior, Sam told Lauren he was leaving for a week-long camping trip in upper Minnesota. In reality, Sam got picked up by groomsman, Andrew, on 5/19/23 and was dropped off at his parent's house in Cedarburg. On 5/20/23, Lauren's sisters, Sydney and Andie, asked if Lauren wanted to grab drinks for a late birthday celebration. About 20 minutes prior to leaving for drinks, Lauren’s sisters took her phone and told her to put on a white dress. They then proceeded to take Lauren to Lake Park where Sam was waiting at the North Point Lighthouse. With Lauren's closest girlfriends hidden in the surrounding bushes with their cameras, Sam proposed. Afterwards, they were met by their golden retriever, Marlee, and a few other friends. Sam and Lauren then traveled with the group to Anvil in Cedarburg, where they were met with family and friends to celebrate the engagement. Best night ever! Sam and Lauren met when they were in 8th grade at Webster Middle School. They ‘dated’ for a brief couple weeks before rekindling their relationship junior year of high school.
