By a stroke of luck (or misfortune, depending on which story he’s telling), Spencer had the privilege of rooming with Sam for three of their four years at Ithaca College. He’s seen Sam at his best and at his worst… and somehow lived to tell the tale. Sharing a 200-square-foot dorm room forged a deep and unshakable friendship that has only grown ever since. Spencer was also lucky — and actually lucky this time — to know Lauren throughout college. Her warmth and joy could light up any room and brought much-needed levity during even the most stressful stretches of the semester. Spencer is truly honored to stand by Sam’s side as his best man and celebrate the happy couple as they begin their beautiful future together!

Adding Lauren to the mix has only resulted in more adventures and endless fun, and it’s abundantly clear why they make such a great couple. I always admired what Sam could do in the classroom and on the field, and now I have the highest respect for him. Not only did he combine athletics and academics for a profession, but he also met an amazing person. Lauren and Sam are the perfect mix of thoughtful and precise, and I couldn’t be happier for them.

Meeting both Sam and Lauren separately freshman year, I knew right away I had made friends for life. Sam’s and my love for movies and comic books pretty much guaranteed we’d be stuck together forever, while Lauren and I bonded through our shared humor and positivity that somehow got us through both the best and the absolute chaos of college life. I remember when Lauren told me that she and Sam had started dating, as we sat around my kitchen table as we had on many nights, and I was thrilled to hear that two of my greatest friends had found each other for life.
