Friday the 13th

Oregon>Alabama>Oregon>Indiana

Way back in 2015 when Lauren and her brother Derek were running the Pig 'n a Pen food cart out in Oregon, Derek scheduled for a 2-piece band to play at the Pod where they sold tenderloins to hopefully draw in some customers on a rainy Portland afternoon. Sam was unloading his drum set and noticed a second person pop out of the food truck who was helping Derek. She soon came over to deliver some pork nugs and hoosier sauce on the house to thank him and his buddy John for showing up to gig at the Pod. Having just received business cards for Pig 'n a Pen that day, Lauren was eager to begin using them right away so she tastefully left one for Sam to have before they parted ways that afternoon. About a week later was Friday the 13th, and Sam - thumbing through his wallet - saw the card Lauren had given him and thought to himself, what the heck. He reached out and Lauren invited him over to hang out with her and her friends. That evening ended up being extension of the kismet encounter they shared at the food cart and also the beginning of a near decade-long friendship. By the following week Sam had planned a camping trip to Bagby Hot Springs and their relationship was off to the races! No warming up at all, they went from zero to one hundred, concerts here, trips there, they couldn't get enough of one another. Flashing forward to now, Sam and Lauren had gone through a lot - together and not together. She moved down to Alabama with Sam when his mom was diagnosed with cancer, they moved back to Oregon when she was in remission! They broke up in 2019, and it would take 3 years from that point for them to realize that they were meant to pester one another for the rest of the lives. From the breakup, to a global pandemic shut down, to finally getting back together in 2022 in Orange Beach, Alabama watching their favorite band, Phish, to running a small business together for 2 years, these 2 souls know in their bones that they are supposed to be together forever. On the summer solstice in 2025, Sam and Lauren will join together with all of the most important people in their lives to celebrate their eternal bond and they couldn't be more grateful for it. :)

For all the days along the way
