Walk or run up to 3.5 miles one way (7 round trip) on Newport's Cliff Walk. You can start at the northern end by Easton's Beach (First Beach) off Memorial Boulevard, but parking might be iffy. We recommend the access point at Forty Steps at the end of Narragansett Avenue where parking is usually better and there's a public bathroom.
Ten miles of stunning coastline on one winding road- it's worth the trip down into the bottom-most part of Aquidneck Island. Start at Bellevue Ave and pass Castle Hill Inn, Hammersmith Farm where Jackie Kennedy grew up, Fort Adams State Park, Gooseberry Beach, and Brenton Point State Park along the way.
Our favorite beach- Sachuest Beach aka Second Beach that leads into Sachuest Point Wildlife Refuge for yet another great walking route with 1 and 1.5 mile loops. The pathway here is not paved, so expect your shoes to get dusty! A little less touristy than the Cliff Walk, but another stunning coastal walk with ocean views.
Quintessential lobster bar if you want the perfect New England lobster roll. Overlooking Newport Harbor, you can't beat these views.
The best soft serve you'll ever have. Trust us. Get the coffee soft serve if you're a coffee fan and don't get scared off by the long line, it moves quickly. Cash only!
Cute breakfast and lunch spot!
Another cute brunch spot!
Drive through Providence's charming Ivy League campus, where Sam worked for 6 years.
If you're staying in Providence, this is a great walking spot to get out and stretch your legs. We spent many hours walking and talking along this road throughout all the seasons!
Another go-to casual lunch or dinner spot. Excellent food and ambiance.
If you want to drive to an expansive beach and peep Taylor Swift's mansion, this is the spot. You will likely have to pay for parking but the beach is huge and one of our faves! We think it's worth the drive :)
