Things To Do

The beautiful Ocean State is full of charming coastal towns, amazing beaches, and great seafood. See below for some of our favorite spots!
Cliff Walk

Cliff Walk

117 Memorial Boulevard, Newport, RI 02840

Walk or run up to 3.5 miles one way (7 round trip) on Newport's Cliff Walk. You can start at the northern end by Easton's Beach (First Beach) off Memorial Boulevard, but parking might be iffy. We recommend the access point at Forty Steps at the end of Narragansett Avenue where parking is usually better and there's a public bathroom.

Ocean Drive

Ocean Avenue, Newport, RI 02840

Ten miles of stunning coastline on one winding road- it's worth the trip down into the bottom-most part of Aquidneck Island. Start at Bellevue Ave and pass Castle Hill Inn, Hammersmith Farm where Jackie Kennedy grew up, Fort Adams State Park, Gooseberry Beach, and Brenton Point State Park along the way.

Sachuest (Second) Beach and Park

Sachuest (Second) Beach and Park

315 Sachuest Point Road, Middletown, RI 02842

Our favorite beach- Sachuest Beach aka Second Beach that leads into Sachuest Point Wildlife Refuge for yet another great walking route with 1 and 1.5 mile loops. The pathway here is not paved, so expect your shoes to get dusty! A little less touristy than the Cliff Walk, but another stunning coastal walk with ocean views.

The Black Pearl Restaurant

The Black Pearl Restaurant

30 Bannister's Wharf, Newport, RI 02840

Sit outside on the deck for a meal, the bar for a Dark n Stormy, or grab a cup of New England clam chowder from the annex window for a quick bite. A Newport staple that will not disappoint, especially if you're a seafood lover!

The Lobster Bar

31 Bowens Wharf, Newport, RI 02840

Quintessential lobster bar if you want the perfect New England lobster roll. Overlooking Newport Harbor, you can't beat these views.

If you want to drive to an expansive beach and peep Taylor Swift's mansion, this is the spot. You will likely have to pay for parking but the beach is huge and one of our faves! We think it's worth the drive :)
