Lauren's Story: Our relationship began as most millennial relationships do, via social media. In 2012, Ryan messaged me on Facebook to say he had seen me around at the gym (24/7 in Harvest). I replied, as any 15 year old girl would, by telling him that he had "huuuugeeee muscles". After some minimal flirting on Facebook, we did not speak again for a year or two. I continued to see him at the gym, and he would smile or wave occasionally. Then in January of 2014 I decided I would reach back out to him. I sent him a snapchat to ask why I hadn't seen him around at the gym lately. After that, he started working out at the exact same time as me every day, and we built a relationship by working out together for a few weeks. Finally, on February 14, 2014 (Valentine's Day), we had our very first date at Las Trojas Mexican restaurant. We ate dinner, and then played Mario Kart until the wee hours of the night. We continued going on dates and hanging out, and he finally asked me to be his girlfriend on March 22, 2014.... The rest is history. Ryan's Story: I first met/saw Lauren in 2012 at the gym that we both had memberships to. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on, and I knew immediately that I wanted to get to know her better. In the following days, I reached out to her on Facebook introducing myself and striking up a conversation. She replied with a very flirty and genuine demeanor. After a few weeks the conversations began to be far and few between. Fast-forward a year or two, and out of the blue she sent me a message on snapchat which lit my face up with a smile. The butterflies I had when I first met her had re-emerged. We began talking more and I finally found the courage to ask her to go on a date with me on Valentine's Day. The night was amazing and I could have never imagined the wonderful future which we had in store for us. On March 22nd I asked her to be my girlfriend... which was the best decision of my life!
Lauren's Story: After 5 years of dating, I guess Ryan realized that he couldn't get rid of me! I graduated from college on May 2nd, and we planned a beach trip to celebrate. My whole family, my grandparents, and Ryan's family planned our trip and set off to celebrate graduation and get some sun. We had planned to do beach pictures with everyone in matching blue shirts and white/khaki bottoms. Ryan, who hates pictures, had been bothering us to get the pictures out of the way for the first few days of the trip. Finally, after 4 days had passed he INSISTED that we go take pictures. So we all got ready and met down on the beach. We took family photos, group photos, and individual couple photos. We had captured everything and we were ready for some dinner. As we were wrapping up, Ryan asked me to take a few more photos with him. I was shocked, because again, he hates photos. I even said something along the lines of "wow, I'm glad you're getting so into these pictures!" We walked over in front of some pretty rocks and waves, and next thing I know, he is down on one knee. I still don't remember the moment very clearly because I was so shocked (and might have blacked out for a few minutes). But I do remember that it was the most magical moment, and I am so grateful that our families got to be there to celebrate with us. I feel so overwhelmed with emotion and so blessed to be able to marry my best friend! Ryan's Story: After 5.5 years, I knew that Lauren was the love of my life. The beach trip was the perfect time for me to spring into action. Upon walking down to the beach to take photos, I saw the perfect opportunity. After we had taken a hand full of pictures I asked her to take just one more. I turned and saw the beautiful woman that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I was so nervous, I couldn't get out the speech I had rehearsed in the shower prior to pictures. Through all my nerves, I managed to get down on one knee and propose to my future wife.
