Reid and Lauren met when they were both 16 years old and in their sophomore year of high school. Reid decided to attend a Halloween party hosted by one of Lauren’s best friends (and now bridesmaid). Although they shared many mutual friends, they had never crossed paths before since they went to different schools. From the moment they met, the connection was instant, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Reid and Lauren got engaged at Oaklawn Garden in Germantown, Tennessee. The day couldn’t have been more perfect. That morning, Reid started things off with a successful turkey hunt, setting the tone for what would become an unforgettable day. In an effort to keep the proposal a surprise, Lauren’s sister planned a sister day for the two of them keeping her happily distracted. When the moment finally arrived, Reid waited patiently beneath a beautifully blooming Callery pear tree as Lauren made her way to him. After the proposal, the two celebrated with dinner surrounded by both of their families. But the surprises weren’t over just yet. When they returned to the Newbern home, they were greeted by a house full of family, friends, and loved ones, all waiting to celebrate the newly engaged couple. It was truly the most perfect day for the future Fergusons.
