Lauren and Preston met during their freshman year of high school in 2017 when Lauren had bet Preston $20 to go hug the principal. The two quickly became friends as they had many mutual friends and had many of the same classes together. It wasn’t until their junior year that Preston developed a crush on Lauren after hanging out at her house to watch a football game. From there, Preston had told everyone about his feelings except for Lauren, who just thought Preston was trying to become really good friends with her. It wasn’t until one of their friends slipped up and let the secret out that Lauren found out about Preston’s feelings. After confronting Preston with her new knowledge and after many conversations, the two agreed to try things out, but go back to being friends if things didn’t work out. By the time their first date came around, Lauren had already started developing feelings for Preston. A couple of weeks later, the pair were officially dating. Preston and Lauren navigated their early relationship during a pandemic, graduated high school together, studied through college together, and even traveled around the world together. Disguising the day as a pre-birthday celebration at the beach, Preston asked Lauren to marry him on March 11, 2025. Soon, on June 12, 2026, the pair will be married at Le Tesserae, surrounded by many family and friends overlooking the Houston skyline and starting their new chapter together.
