Monterey Bay Aquarium

Considered a world renowned aquarium, and also the inspiration for Disney Pixar's Finding Dory, the Monterey Bay aquarium features exhibits of sea otters, jellyfish, and sea life unique to the deep Pacific. There is also a public walking trail that will connect you from the Aquarium/Cannery row to the scenic Lovers Point in Pacific Grove.

Old Fisherman's Wharf

Great spot to grab a bowl of clam chowder, sample some salt water taffy, or spot a sea lion!

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

Easy-moderate hiking trails with ocean views. Phil & Lauren have gone several times over the years. If you are lucky, you may see some sea otters or harbor seals sunbathing!

Bixby Bridge

Bixby Bridge is an iconic landmark as you drive south on Highway 1 towards Big Sur from Carmel. There are multiple state parks within Big Sur with great hikes and viewpoints. Once you enter Big Sur, you will no longer have cell service. Be sure to download maps ahead of time if you decide to drive down the coast.
