We met on an online dating app, called Zoosk. We got connected and after a few messages quickly realized we didn't live close to one another. One of us lived in Indiana and the other in Illinois, roughly a 3 hour commute. We both couldn't shake the fact we had to meet. We decided to meet half way at a brewery called Brickstone Brewery in Bourbonnais, Illinois and the rest is history. After a few months of commuting, we made the decision that West Lafayette was our home. Both of us shared residences with brothers Chris and Jordan in the beginning . We settled in at our own place at South River Road, on the Wabash River. After a few years of saving and Lauren stalking their soon to be home, we bought a historical house located in downtown Lafayette. Before moving in, we renovated (or as we like to call it, sweatquity) several areas of our new home for 6 months and moved in July 2020. (Shout out to family and friends who helped us on our journey!) Settled into our new home, we found out we were pregnant December 2020! Benjamin James Soverns arrived August 6th, 2021 a healthy baby boy at St. Elizabeth hospital in Lafayette. After 9 amazing years together, we tied the knot on July 14th, 2023 to seal the deal. Which brings us to today. 10 years together and 1 year of marriage, we get to celebrate with family and friends. Prost!
