UPDATE 11/5/24: The wedding venue and hotels are fully operational. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all soon! The surrounding area is still recovering from damage from both hurricanes so we appreciate your flexibility and patience for minor changes to the weekend events. We met as nurses working in the intensive care unit. We worked together while secretly dating. Lauren's family referred to Paul as "coworker Paul" until it was official in November 2018. We both decided to move on from the ICU but not from our relationship. We knew we had something special and decided to move in together in August 2020 while we both endured graduate school. We are enjoying post grad life together and can't wait to celebrate with all of our friends and family!

Lauren was told we were going to have dinner at the beach for Paul's birthday. While driving to the restaurant, Katie (who was in on the surprise) called us to say she was running late, so Paul took Lauren to their favorite beach spot to walk in the sand. Lauren thinks of everything so she was skeptical of the plan and how far it was from the restaurant. After a quick walk on the beach, Paul proposed at sunset and Lauren said yes! Katie was disguised as a beach goer and caught it all. We were not actually going out to eat, as Paul planned a surprise dinner with our family back at our house!
