We are thrilled to have you join us at Belle Isle! To make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we've gathered answers to the questions you may have about travel, lodging, weekend events, kids and families, attire, weather, transportation, and all the little details that will help you feel fully prepared for our celebration in July 2026.
Question

When should we plan to arrive in Ireland?

Answer

We recommend an overnight flight on Saturday, July 4th, arriving early Sunday morning, July 5th, in Dublin. This timing allows for some rest on the flight, a full day awake upon arrival to help reduce jet lag, and ensures you'll be able to gather with the group and ride together on the charter bus.

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend Dublin Airport (DUB). It offers the most flight options and is where our charter buses will depart to take Guests directly to Belle Isle Estate. You may also fly into Belfast, of course, but transportation from Belfast will not be provided.

Will transportation be provided to and from the estate?

Answer

Yes! We will provide round-trip charter bus transportation between Dublin Airport and Belle Isle at set times for arrivals and departures. For those who wish to drive, rental cars can be booked at Dublin airport at the Guest's expense.

How long is the drive to Belle Isle?

Answer

The drive from Dublin Airport to Belle Isle Estate is approximately 2 hours, with beautiful countryside views along the way.

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Guests traveling from the US (and most countries) will need a valid passport. No tourist visa is required for stays under 90 days.

What currency is used in Northern Ireland?

Answer

Northern Ireland uses Pounds Sterling (GBP). Most places accept credit cards, though having a small amount of cash can be helpful for shopping, etc.

Should I rent a car?

Answer

You do not need a car once you arrive at the estate, as everything is walkable. If we explore surrounding towns (and for those traveling on to Dublin), renting a car is an option. We will provide charter bus transportation from the estate to Dublin as well, and to the Dublin airport. Just note that driving is on the left side of the road!

Where will Guests stay?

Answer

Guests will stay in the cottages and rooms throughout Belle Isle Estate. All accommodations are within walking distance of each other and event spaces?

How will rooms be assigned?

Answer

We will assign rooms based on group size, arrival details, and accommodation type. Room assignments will be shared closer to the wedding weekend.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Answer

Yes, Wi-Fi is available in cottages and in the castle, though signal strength may vary in certain areas due to the rural location.

Are kids welcome?

Yes - children are warmly welcome at both the wedding and the surrounding events.

For "the littles," childcare will be provided onsite and as needed.

What is scheduled for the weekend?

Answer

A detailed timeline will be posted closer to the date, but the weekend will include: - Welcome BBQ - Castle activities and local excursions - Wedding ceremony and reception - Morning after/farewell to the castle breakfast For those traveling on to Dublin, we will depart the castle that Thursday morning and spend the day enjoying two truly incredible destinations: the "Giants' Causeway" and Titanic Museum. We will then make the trek to Dublin late Thursday.

What is the dress code?

Answer

For the wedding day, we invite you to lean into the magic of a castle celebration! Inspired tuxes and gowns are welcome, as are suits and formal dresses. We encourage pastels, floral prints, lace, frills, and bold silhouettes to bring the romantic old world spirit to life. Gentlemen may opt for ascots, ties, three-piece suits, or even a pocket watch; ladies might enjoy gloves, parasols, or a statement hat. Don't be afraid to experiment -thrifted treasures and creative finds are especially welcome! Most importantly, don't overthink it - come as you are & enjoy the celebration. You'll find inspiration and ideas on the attire card included with your invitation. For the "Night Before" dinner, the attire is upscale casual - polished but relaxed. Think: - Dresses or skirts with a light sweater or blouse - Dressy jumpsuits - Button-downs or sweaters with chinos, etc. - Stylish flats, loafers, boots, or low heels (keep comfort in mind for the estate grounds) For the farewell breakfast and other non-wedding moments, plan for elevated casual: - Think layers, as temperatures can shift throughout the day - Comfortable shoes for walking the estate's stone paths and gardens - A sweater or wrap for cool evenings - A light rain jacket or umbrella - just in case (this is Ireland, after all) Above all, wear what makes you feel confident, comfortable, and ready to enjoy the festivities.

Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place outdoors on the estate grounds. Indoor options are available if needed.

Will food and drinks be provided?

Answer

Yes - in addition to the wedding...our welcome BBQ, "Night Before" dinner, and daily breakfast will all be provided. If we venture into town, Guests will be expected to incur expenses for any restaurants or pubs we visit. We will also have a full kitchen on the estate that we will stock for quick snacks, etc. For those traveling on to Dublin, food and drinks will be at the expense of the Guest.

Will lodging be provided?

Answer

Yes - castle accommodations at Belle Isle Estate will be provided at no cost to our Guests for the duration of the wedding weekend. If you choose to join us in Dublin, those accommodations will be at your own expense, as the post-wedding time in the city is optional and less-structured. We will, however, have a block of rooms at a Dublin hotel available at a discounted rate.

What is the weather like in July?

Answer

July in Northern Ireland is mild, with temperatures typically in the 60s-70s. Expect long days, light breezes, and the occasional rain shower. What should I pack? - Layers for cool mornings/evenings - A light rain jacket or umbrella - Comfortable walking shoes for the estate - A type G plug adapter for electronics - A sweater, wrap, or jacket for outdoor moments

Do we have a wedding registry?

Answer

Your presence is truly the greatest gift - especially given the travel. For those who feel strongly about giving something, optional registry information is available under the "Registry" tab of this site.

Are there plans for after the wedding weekend?

Answer

Yes! After the farewell breakfast, some Guests will head home (or continue onto their own travels), while others may choose to continue to continue with us in Dublin for a few days. This portion is optional - more of a shared adventure than a formal itinerary.

Will transportation to Dublin be provided?

Answer

We will share guidance on getting to Dublin after the castle weekend. Some Guests may return via charter bus to Dublin Airport and travel into the city, while others may opt to rent a car or arrange private transport.

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Please submit all RSVPs directly through the RSVP tab of his website. Because some Guests may arrive later in the castle stay or need to depart early, we ask that you RSVP for each day you plan to be at Belle Isle Estate. This helps us coordinate lodging, meals, and transportation accurately. If you plan to join us in Dublin after the castle weekend, please also RSVP for the Dublin portion so we can keep you included in any group updates or informal plans. What date should we plan to depart Dublin?

Answer

A quick clarification on departure timing: For guests continuing on after our time at the castle, the intended departure date from Dublin is Sunday, July 12th. If you happened to book a return flight departing Saturday, July 11th based on earlier website information, please don’t worry — both options work depending on your personal travel plans, and there is no required group activity that day. We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your flexibility as plans come together.
