Question

What are the COVID-19 Protocols for Jamaica?

Answer

Jamaica no longer requires a pre-departure COVID-19 test, however all departures to the USA must submit a negative COVID-19 (NAAT or Antigen test) result at the airport. Travelers to the US, two years or older, must comply with the latest CDC order requiring testing and the timeline for results of the day before travel. Please take the test at least 72 - 48 hours before travel. Half Moon conducts PCR and Rapid tests on site at their "Wellness Concierge". Please see here for further details: https://www.halfmoon.com/wellness-concierge

Question

What will Half Moon be doing to ensure we're following CDC Health and Safety Guidelines?

Answer

Please see here for a detailed breakdown on how Half Moon is rigorously following CDC guidelines, regularly sanitizing all surfaces and rooms, and will continue to wear masks throughout the entirety of our stay: https://www.halfmoon.com/covid-safety

Question

Do I need to be vaccinated to come?

Answer

Yes. The safety and health of our friends and family is the utmost importance to us and we want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy the wedding.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately, while we both equally have an immense love of children and deeply love all of the kids of our families, this wedding will be adults-only. Half Moon does not provide child-care and we want to foster a safe, stress-free and enjoyable environment for all. However, kids ages 14+ are welcome. We hope you all understand our approach.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, you will need a passport to come. If you do not have a passport or your passport is about to expire - we advise initiating that process as soon as possible as there has been significant delays due to COVID. Further information can be found here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply.html

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal beach wedding attire. Should you need suggestions on what to wear, we'd recommend a dress, suit, or jumpsuit all work for a beach formal wedding. Opt for solid, lighter colors (avoiding black, cream, and white) and breathable fabrics. Tea-length dresses and jumpsuits are acceptable for beach formal attire. The wedding won't be directly on the sand so no need to worry about heels falling in! :) For men or those who feel more comfortable not wearing a dress, we'd recommend wearing either a suit or a long-sleeved shirt and tie with a jacket and slacks. Opt for solid colors, avoiding black, cream, and white—a summer suit is a perfect solution. Consider a breathable fabric such as linen, khaki, or seersucker. Dress shoes or a nice pair of shoes that compliment the slacks would be a great fit as well. Shorts are not permitted for the ceremony.

Question

How many days should I plan to stay?

Answer

To get the most out of your trip, we'd recommend staying from Thursday/Friday before the wedding, until Sunday or Monday. However, of course whatever works best for you, works best for us :)

Question

Where can I find a map of the property?

Answer

Please put the following link into your browser: halfmoon.com/pdf/Resort_Map_For_Web01.pdf

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

May 15, 2022. If you are planning on staying at the property, please reach out to the Bride and Groom to book rooms by May 1, 2022.

Question

What's the best way to get around?

Answer

If you aren't staying at the resort, we'd recommend you take a taxi to get around Montego Bay. Taking a cab or minibus will be the safest and most hassle-free way to get around, but you should only take the official taxis that are operated by the Jamaica Union of Travelers Association (JUTA) or Jamaica Co-operative Automobile & Limousine Tours (JCAL). The most affordable taxis are communal "route taxis," which pick up at certain spots throughout the island and drive to certain locations. Look for the red and white license plates with "P" or "PPV" appearing before the number. Many taxi meters are broken, so agree on a price before accepting the ride. As for tipping, you should budget in 10 to 15 percent of the fare – more if you're traveling late at night. You can also rent your own car as well, however, please keep in mind they drive on the left side of the road in Jamaica and there tends to be a lot of potholes so tread carefully! If you would like to rent, we would recommend you do so at the airport for reliable service and inventory. You can choose from familiar car rental chains like Hertz and Budget or local companies like Island Car Rentals.

Question

Is transportation available from the airport to the resort?

Answer

For those staying on the property, transportation is available. For those who are not, we’d recommend getting a taxi (see question above for details). Please send me your flight name, number, arrival and departure details and we can coordinate that for you. The cost is $20/person which can be billed directly to your room. For my friends and family staying in the villas, Half Moon will organize that service directly with you.
