We met way back in high school and remained friends throughout college. We went years constantly explaining to people that despite everyone’s judgement, we were just friends. During my senior year of college, I even asked Nik to come with me to my Alpha Phi formal, as my date, with the intention of setting him up with a friend. Turns out, that didn’t happen. Nik and I had a great time together. Before I knew it, we were spending every weekend together and started dating shortly after that. The rest is history!

Last summer, Nik and I got our bikes back from the tune up shop and decided to go for a bike ride to the North side for a Friday night picnic. We biked about 15 miles and found a good spot to chill out at near Lake Michigan. Shortly after, Nik proposed to me. We were able to enjoy this moment very privately and intimately, between just us two. I absolutely loved this.
