We first met in 7th grade through a mutual friend. Back when Skype video chat was popular, we used to stay up all night long talking. We credit our first date as the Cedar Point trip we took together in 2011 when family had to drive us because we were too young to have our licenses. As most middle school “relationships” go, we went our separate ways before high school started. Both of us attended Elyria Catholic High School, where we even stood next to each other at graduation. Loosely being in the same friend group, we stayed in touch as college classes and work schedules took over our lives. As many modern love stories start, Nate “slid in the DMs”. In August of 2019, a canoeing trip to Mohican peaked our interest in each other again. By January of 2020, we were officially dating. Now after fifteen years of knowing each other and nearly seven years together, we are getting married! Who knew after all these years we would find our way back to one another.
