Lauren and Nathaniel have decided to (legally) get married at the courthouse and do vows privately to one another, so this event will be a reception, with some heartfelt speeches during dinner!
We are offering an arrival time of 5pm to 530pm, before the festivities begin, to ensure guests can find ample parking. The space is located at the top of a long driveway, and parking will be open all over the available property. This might be confusing now BUT will make sense you arrive.
Dinner will be family style Hawaiian BBQ. Nathaniel's favorite food is in fact teriyaki chicken, so he has been promised that as the main entree! Dessert will include carrot cake (the couple's favorite), s'mores around the fire pit and other sweet treats. Menu will be along the lines of teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, rice, macaroni salad, potato salad and other typical BBQ style accoutrements. We are hoping for everyone to load up a plate and enjoy themselves.
We are hoping for a vintage western/warm garden party look, if possible! The home is set on a desert ranch, so we suggest not opting for heels or anything that might throw off your balance. The bride will be wearing cowboy boots! If you are feeling crazy, check out Lauren's Pinterest board: https://pin.it/5ZaaueVo3 Colors will focus around this palette: https://pin.it/7yPLtKTXQ
This time of year, it is typically quite warm but can get slightly chilled at night. Plan accordingly.
The reception is being held at Lauren's family home. The event will be mostly outside, but there will be inside accommodations as well.
If you plan on bringing additional guests (kids or partners) please include them on the R.S.V.P. We should be able to accommodate (within reason). If we are unable to do so, the bride and groom will inform you privately. This is a child friendly event, but be aware it is a semi-rural setting and the home is on a large piece of land where the ground is uneven and animals could be present in the evening.
