Early March in the Riviera Maya is considered one of the best times of year to visit! You can expect warm, sunny, and beach-perfect weather. Daytime temperatures are typically in the low–mid 80s°F, with evenings staying comfortably warm in the low 70s°F. It’s also part of the dry season, so rain is minimal; usually just a brief shower here and there, if any. Overall, expect plenty of sunshine, warm ocean water, and perfect conditions for beach time, pools, and outdoor events. Don’t forget sunscreen! ☀️🌴
The resort is very walkable, with a scenic pathway that stretches about 2 miles along the front of the property — perfect for enjoying the views as you explore. There are also golf carts that run throughout the resort to help you get around. They run frequently, and drivers are very friendly — they’ll often stop to offer a ride if they have space, or you can wait at one of the designated benches for pickup. You’ll have access to explore El Dorado Royale, the Casitas, and El Dorado Generations, whether walking or riding. If you ever need help getting somewhere (like the welcome party at Casitas Enclave Section 31), just let a driver know your destination, and they’ll take you right there.
Yes — we’re making a whole week of it 🌴✨ We’ll be in Mexico from Tuesday, March 2 through Monday, March 9, and we’d love to spend as much time together as possible while we’re all there! Welcome Party Friday, March 5 | 5:00–8:00 PM Join us for a relaxed afternoon to kick off the wedding weekend! We’ll be hosting at the Casitas where we’re staying, with private access to our enclave pool and bartender. Light bites and drinks will be available to enjoy throughout the evening. 📍 Location details: Enclave Section 31 — look for our room sign! We’re in one of the presidential suites (the walkway passes underneath our deck). Day After the Wedding Plans for Sunday are still TBD! We may organize something casual depending on interest. We’ll keep you posted with any updates during the weekend.
Yes — we highly recommend making dinner reservations early in your stay. Dinner spots can fill up quickly, so it’s best to connect with your concierge as soon as you arrive to plan ahead for the week. Breakfast and lunch are much more flexible and typically do not require reservations, so no need to worry there! Your concierge is a great resource and can help secure reservations, make recommendations, and coordinate your dining plans. We’ll also be sharing a list of some of our favorite restaurants and spots at the resort closer to the wedding weekend!
Each section of the resort has its own concierge team, located in small glass offices near the guest rooms. They are available during office hours and are a great resource for anything you may need during your stay — including dinner reservations, activities, and general assistance. If you don’t connect with your concierge right away, we recommend stopping by your designated concierge office during their hours. There is also a main concierge desk in the lobby (on the left as you enter) that can assist you or help connect you with your concierge if needed.
We’ve described our wedding dress code as “Beachy Cocktail Attire.” In short: think polished but relaxed, and beach-appropriate. We’re going for an elevated, breezy, vacation feel — something you’d wear to a nice dinner on a tropical getaway. For women: light and airy dresses, midi/maxi dresses, or a polished top and skirt are all great options! Wedges, flats, or dressy sandals are perfect. (We recommend skipping stilettos — the ceremony will be on the pier with access to the sand!) For men: linen or lightweight suits, slacks with a collared shirt, or a guayabera for a tropical touch. Jackets and ties are optional. Early March in Mexico is warm and beautiful, and our ceremony will take place by the beach — so dress comfortably, stay cool, and lean into those coastal vibes. If you look wedding-ready but feel like you're on vacation, you’ve nailed it. 🌴☀️
No worries at all! We recommend booking your room for yourself to secure your spot. If you decide to add a guest later, you can easily do so by reaching out to our travel specialist, Kate, who will help update your reservation.
While the resort does offer a family-friendly section at El Dorado Generations, our wedding events will be adults only. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
