We recommend staying in Condesa, Roma Norte, or Polanco. We are recommending several hotels in those areas under the Travel section. There are wonderful AirBnBs or other small hotels in the area if what we've offered doesn't fit your needs.
Mexico City is a great walking city. If you are not traveling by foot, it's best to use Uber, which is very affordable in CDMX!
The Welcome Dinner will be at Blanco Colima in the Roma Norte area. The main event on Saturday is at Casa Pedregal which is about 20-25 min away from the Condesa, Roma Norte, and Polanco areas. We recommend that you use Uber, which is likely your safest option and very affordable (will be approx $15 each way).
Both events are loosely cocktail attire but please show up in whatever way makes you feel joyful! The cocktail hour is on grass so we recommend planning your heels / shoes accordingly.
Most cities have flights to CDMX. If you are traveling from San Diego, we recommend flying out of the Tijuana airport. You can just take an Uber to CBX at the border, where you can cross the border by foot, and it will shoot you out right at the TJ airport. Those flights tend to be a lot less expensive than SD! Once you arrive at the CDMX airport, follow the signs for ground transportation, and you can book an UberX or Uber Black. We recommend using Uber Black as they are not expensive and are often much more comfortable cars.
