We're getting married!

In June 2024, Matthew joined Lauren and her family on their vacation to Cape Cod. Now, Lauren had a suspicion that a proposal could happen on this trip, but she thought it would happen later in the week. It was only on their second full day there that her family set the scene. It started with an early day in Boston and Plymouth, MA, where Lauren thought the most exciting thing that day was seeing Plymouth Rock (sarcasm). After making it back to the Cape, everyone relaxed before an early dinner. After dinner, we planned to get ice cream, but Lauren's sister complained of a migraine, so she and her husband stayed back at the house. While getting ice cream, Lauren's mom decided to stay and eat there, but a minute later she insisted she was cold and we had to go home. Once home, Lauren decided she wanted to change (since it was indeed cold), but her mom stopped her with no explanation (full stare with no words for a whole minute). Lauren decided to change anyway and started leaving, when Matthew re-appeared and led her to the balcony. Lauren must have been in a state of shock because all she could repeat was "Are you for real?" After getting engaged, her family filled her in on everything, including her sister's fake migraine to set everything up, how we almost missed our chance since it was getting dark, and how, on the way there, the TSA agent almost pulled out the ring box in front of everyone. 10/10 would recommend.
