Like many modern love stories, ours started with a swipe - thank you, Hinge! After a few weeks of chatting, we finally made plans to grab a drink after work. I remember freaking out at work because I was so nervous to meet him. I ended up texting my sister that I was probably getting stood up because, in true Luke fashion, he was running late. But he showed up (thankfully), and we ended up staying at Bud's on Franklin Street for almost four hours just talking like we'd known each other forever. From that first date, I had a feeling there was something really special about him. And in case you're wondering, yes, he walked me to my car and opened the door for me, like a total gentleman. He still does. Luke says he was struck not only by my beauty (his words!), but by how thoughtful, intelligent, and articulate I was. To this day it still shines through in every conversation and also her notorious ability to somehow always pick the perfect gift. Looking back, we both left that first date knowing something was different. And now, here we are planning forever.
