We both attended college at Texas A&M University. Luis became friends with Aaron in 7th grade and Lauren became friends with Sarah through church. Sarah and Aaron began dating, which led to Sarah meeting Luis. Sarah knew that we would be a perfect match and introduced us in September 2015.

We planned a ski trip to Vail just before Christmas in December 2017. On our first day there we flew in and went to go see the town. Luis wanted to see the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens before grabbing something to eat, so we went for a walk. As we were walking, we were taking a bunch of pictures and came to a bridge with a photographer. Luis wanted to cross the bridge and see what was on the other side, so we started to walk across and Lauren tried to hurry so they wouldn’t get in the photpgrapher’s photos. Luis started to slow down and when Lauren turned around to see why, he was down on one knee and she said “yes!”
