Question

What is a Sofreh Aghd?

Answer

A Sofreh Aghd is the centerpiece of a Persian wedding ceremony. It is a table prepared with 23 symbolic items meant to represent and bless the couple's life together. The bride and groom sit at the head of this table during the ceremony.

Question

I'm coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

Answer

Please reference our travel page for hotels where we have arranged discount rates. Should you wish to look for another option and are unfamiliar with LA, let us provide some general guidelines. LA can be broken down into a series of neighborhoods, the closest of which to our venue are downtown (DTLA) and Koreatown (KTown). Should you wish to make a holiday of the wedding weekend, there are plenty of other options that all have their own attractions and we encourage you to make of the most! That being said, there is no sugarcoating LA traffic. The further away you go from the venue, the more time you will need to budget to get to and from. If you choose to stay west of the I-405 freeway, you will need to budget at least an hour to get to and from the wedding.

Question

What else is happening in LA on the wedding weekend? Could it make getting accommodations/traffic worse?

Answer

Traffic is inevitable regardless of the events happening. Because LA is a major city, there are always a multitude of things happening. We are keeping an eye on the calendar to see if any major events might add additional complications -- we even planned our wedding date before the USC football season to simplify travel! That being said, there is an anime convention happening downtown during our wedding weekend. If you aim to stay in DTLA, it would be wise to book any hotel accommodations sooner rather than later.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Rideshares like Lyft and Uber are an easy option. Should you wish to drive, parking is available in the venue's car park. There is also a Metro stop at Museum Row, the park where our venue is located.
