Lauren and Kevin met the night before Lauren’s birthday in March 2023 at the Ranch Bar in Anaconda. Lauren had gone out with friends to raise a glass to their friend Jade, whose birthday fell the day before hers. It was a typical Thursday night. Pool tables were busy, friends were gathered around the bar, and Lauren noticed something unusual for the Ranch Bar: a cute guy. Kevin had come into town to watch Bob Lorengo play pool. It also happened to be the middle of spring breakup. Lauren didn’t know it yet, but spring breakup would become a familiar part of their life together. Kevin works in logging, and during that muddy stretch of Montana spring when the roads thaw, logging crews can’t work. Throughout the night Lauren kept hearing people say, “Kevin, you should go talk to Lauren.” Kevin never did. After a few banana shots and a little encouragement from her friend Julia, Lauren decided to handle the situation herself. As they were getting ready to leave, she walked right up to him and said, “Hi, my name is Lauren Bolton, and I’m wondering why you haven’t come over to talk to me. Everyone here has been telling you to.” Kevin was a little surprised, but it worked. They exchanged numbers and soon went on their first date in Philipsburg at Philipsburg Brewing Company with sushi from the Sushi Shack. The night ended at the White Front Bar, and the rest is history. Three years later, they are still laughing, still exploring life together, and still very glad Lauren made the first move. When it came time to choose a place to get married, Las Vegas felt perfect. It is a city built on taking chances, having fun, and saying yes to adventure. In a way, their story started the same way.
