The night of June 7, 2021, the forest floor lit with fireflies flashing. Surrounded by these mesmerizing creatures, Josh proposed to Lauren. Come join the couple relive their magical night by watching the fireflies while you are in town. Having spent many weekends traveling to the Smokies, they have learned a few tips and tricks about firefly viewing. If you do not win lottery tickets through the National Park Service, you can book a campsite at Elkmont or watch the fireflies the week before or after the event! Then head to the Little River trailhead. Lauren and Josh just ask that you are respectful of these incredible creatures. When observing the fireflies, please do not use any white light or cell phone light since that interrupts their mating. You can purchase red cellophane or a red light to help you navigate through the darkness.
There are many companies that offer great white water rafting experiences. Nantahala Outdoor Center was so great, that Lauren went twice in one year!
