Sharon is Jon’s oldest sister, and mother of flower girls Eva and Elysia. They live in New Orleans with their pup Satchmo. Sharon is a physician and talented artist, and seems to have passed down those inquisitive and creative genes to Eva and Elysia. In keeping with Fox/Bockenstedt family tree tendencies, Michelle is also a physician. She lives in California with her husband, Steve, and ring bearers Alexander and Hayes. Lauren had the best time visiting them last summer, and seriously considered smuggling Alexander and Hayes back home with her. Lauren cherishes her time with Sharon and Michelle in Michigan each summer. She couldn’t be more excited to have the best two future sisters she could ask for (and to finally, officially, be ‘Aunt Lauren’)!

Jordan Samet

Best Man

Jordan is Lauren's younger brother, also a Michigan grad, who now lives in New York. After a brief period of Jordan hazing Jon, the two grew close, bonding over Michigan sports, trips to the beach, and the occasional adventure abroad. Jon's favorite times though, are just hanging out listening to music and talking about life. Jordan's always the DJ (he has the best music), and the two have great conversations about family, football, and their latest frustrations at work. Jon has also looked to Jordan for advice about Lauren over the years, and the wise words of the younger "Broha" have never steered Jon wrong. Jon looks forward to gaining a new brother, and to many more cherished memories ahead.

Lauren and Lauren met in the rush line when they were joining a sorority in the fall of their freshman year. They both ended up in Chi Omega where they were quickly known as ‘The Laurens from Maryland.’ Since they were almost always together, both having the same name started to present some issues… legend has it this is how Lauren Samet from Maryland became known as Samet or Sammy for the rest of her University of Michigan years. Samet and Lauren have been through thick and thin together since freshman year at U of M. Samet is so appreciative for this forever friendship, because she couldn’t imagine life without this wonderful woman in it.

Stephanie Gooel and Samet spent countless hours in college either around Stephanie’s guitar or the piano singing along to their favorite tunes - the best of which were always written by Stephanie herself. They bonded quickly over this love of and joy for music, and went on to get into countless shenanigans together throughout the course of their friendship, both with and without Gooel’s guitar. Although these shenanigans are ever-present, when life gets more serious, these ladies know they would drop anything to be there to support one another.

Emma and Samet first got to know each other when they lived in Couzens Hall Dormitory their freshman year at U of M. Twelve years later, they may as well be cousins, as they are clearly a part of each other’s chosen families. Even though Emma’s amazingly adventurous spirit has taken her to live in Nicaragua for the time being, the two still find ways to keep in touch and keep each other laughing. Emma and Samet have always loved to analyze and critique commercials together. Samet knows that right now Emma has limited access to American commercials, and thinks this may be the only saving grace in eventually bringing Emma back stateside.

Bodker and Samet couldn’t be more excited to be going through the engagement and wedding process at the same time – engagement buddies! They have always shared in each other’s joy, so sharing this special time together has worked out perfectly. Samet will stand by Bodker’s side Labor Day weekend as she says, “I do” to the love of her life, and Samet couldn’t be happier that come November 9th, “Dr. Bodkee” will be there to do the same for her.

Mourice and Sammy became very close when they lived together during Spring Term in Ann Arbor after their sophomore year. The weekly ‘Woodstock Wednesday’ parties they threw that summer with their other roomies Arielle Goldman and Grace Honik were quite a hit. The two have been known to talk for hours and laugh hysterically together. Sammy always appreciates Mourice’s warm words of wisdom.

Goldman and Samet had countless connections to each other, growing up in Maryland just a few minutes down the road from each other; however, it wasn’t until they were placed with each other as roommates sophomore year in their sorority house that their friendship started to blossom. Samet always appreciated Rel’s refreshing perspectives on life, and was always amazed by her friend’s incredible talent on the stage. Besides that, Samet and Gooel’s aforementioned shenanigans were dramatically improved with Rel’s involvement.

The two met waiting in line for Zingerman's Deli on move-in weekend of their freshman year - both Dads take credit for striking up a casual conversation that led to a very special friendship.
