The Ballard Locks link the Puget Sound and South Lake Union and are an active lock with a fish ladder within the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden, one of the most beautiful park settings in Seattle.
Ballard Farmers Market
If you're staying through Sunday morning, we highly recommend checking out the Ballard Farmers Market for great street food and souvenirs. Lauren used to live right next to the market, and it was her favorite weekend activity. If you have time, we also recommend visiting Bar Sabine along the market where Lauren and John had their first date.
Volunteer Park Conservatory
Volunteer Park Conservatory is near the wedding venue and is a great spot to stroll and relax in nature with a cup of coffee or tea.
Pike Place Market
Visit the iconic Pike Place Market to take advantage of fantastic local restaurants, art, seafood, and hot spots like the first Starbucks and the Seattle Gum Wall. If you're lucky, you might even catch a fish!
Woodland Park Zoo
Visit the Woodland Park Zoo for an up-close and personal experience with wildlife from all over the world! Afterward, we recommend visiting Red Mill Burgers or Bonogs for Caribbean-style food on Green Lake, where Lauren recently lived and her parents lived in the 90s.
Burke-Gilman Trail
Rent Bikes and ride the Burke-Gilman Trail! We recommend stopping at Gasworks Pub for a beer and a bite, and then heading to GasWorks Park for stunning downtown views in a unique urban setting. Afterward, you can visit the Fremont Troll if you dare!
