The best coffee that the state of Alabama has to offer!
Great for baked goods and coffee if you like taking a stroll through an old European Town!
Fun little spot run by some good friends. Quality coffee
Best bagels in town. A family favorite for breakfast throughout the years.
A bakery and small shop that has fed our family my entire life. Everything from sweet treats to casseroles at holidays. PS try the muffin tops!
Great for a hearty breakfast, strong pancakes, and REAL thick cut bacon.
A newer BBQ classic. Great all around BBQ but may have the best wings and Alabama white sauce in the state!
Hometown favorite BBQ spot that is great for an easy hang with friends and family.
A family favorite fast-casual greek place that has fed us for years!
Local favorite that has been a favorite place to hang for many, many years. Open air bar/easy food place.
If you are self conscious about the menu at Otey's just go right next door and there are great options!
Family favorite mexican place. Always recommend the blue corn nachos. It is "high-class alabama mexican" so do with that what you will.
If you've been in town with John over the last 5 years, he has probably requested to drag you here. It's this super cute sandwhich and milkshake shop that has been a family staple for generations.
When's John's mom was buying lunch, this was is her goto deli. It's tough to beat. Loved by much. Has a classic tavern style with an in-house butcher and divine pepper jelly.
When John's dad has the keys, he wants to head here. It's more old school lunch time sports bar and their cajun turkey can hold its own against anyone. Be prepared to go back in time through Alabama football history. A classic spot right next to a lookout across town. Make your decision on whether it's Mr. P's or Diplomat Deli that takes the cake.
Extremely good, southern restaurant that gives you fried chicken and mandarin oranges in the same bite to make you feel healthier.
THE Irondale Cafe from "Fried Green Tomatoes" fame. Definitely worth the hype and the chocolate pie cannot missed. Make the trip out and go back in time!
A sentimental place worth going just for the Momma's Nachos for a quick afternoon bite.
The most underrated Roast Beef and cajun food in Alabama. Worth the stop and near the wedding venue.
A great place to meet up with people and hang out to kill time.
Take a step into John's childhood with square cheese pizza, an italian salad, Mr. Pibb, red checkered tablecloths, and pacman competitions with friends. A unique experience that is fun for the whole family.
Bottega Cafe is one the best restaurants in the area. Run by famed chef Frank Stitt, he delivers some of the best Italian fare in the region. Be prepared to hang out for a while, laugh, eat good food, and still want more. PS, a glass of Frank's red and coconut cake is actually a great combo
We'd be remised if we didn't include this even though we haven't gone. People have lost their minds so we think it's worth it.
Another concept from Chef Frank Stiff that is an Italian Bistro. Ironically, the burger and fries with house made ketchup are incredible but the whole menu is worth trying. If you want a place to eat caviar or look boujee without spending too much, this place is it.
Nice dinner for a nice group of people for a nice time out. Your grandmother's favorite restaurant but your boss' go to because no one knows about it. Lunch and dinner are definitely suggested. Look for the specials on fish (fried and not)
The #1 restaurant in the city and yes, it is safe to get seafood in the middle of Alabama. Oysters, fish, scallops, crab-go for it all. But if you come, get the fish gullets - you won't be disappointed.
The most fun little family Italian spot has popped up in Homewood. Great food that is easy even though the menu tries to stretch you from your typical lasagna. Tell them Danny sent you and be sure to try the asparagus
Some will hate on this, mainly all of the Texas people after they go, but that's beside the point. Imagine if taco bell opened up a fast casual spot in Sweden but just for the summer months. Do with that what you will, but we will continue to eat here until we die because Brenda's spices are too bland after all
